Osborn Screen for Turkish Plant
Osborn has secured a significant export order to Turkey, for one of its new generation SuperKing screens.
The Osborn 6 x 20, three-deck SuperKing Screen, with Mesabi-type top deck, has been shipped to Istanbul, where it will be commissioned in a new aggregate plant. This is the second order that Osborn has received from new customer , The Tassel Group Turkey, for one of its robust SuperKing Screens, says marketing manager Martin Botha.
The screens have been sold through a Turkey-based agent of Osborn’s American parent company, Astec Industries. The agent, Turbo Diesel Turkey, netted this order despite stiff competition from other leading international suppliers on the basis of the Osborn screen’s reputation as a rugged, reliable, low maintenance machine, Botha notes.
Osborn’s SuperKing Screens are making their mark both in South Africa and beyond, in primary screening and scalping applications, he asserts. Machines from the range have previously been sold to Lafarge in KwaZulu-Natal, the Holcim Group in Gauteng and Canyon Rock in Midrand. “These heavy duty, inclined screens have set new standards in reliability and high productivity in the toughest industrial environments,” he adds.
SuperKing Screens are capable of a wide variety of applications, from heavy duty scalping behind large primary crushers, to final sizing down to 4 mm. Easily adjustable counterweights ensure optimal stroke for each application – from 0 to a maximum of 12 mm. The screens perform as efficiently in screening dry or wet sand, gravel, crushed stone, all types of ore and in a range of industrial applications, Botha states.
For maximum and heavy duty applications, the standard SuperKing Screen range includes single, double and triple deck configurations in sizes from 900 mm x 1 800 mm long to 2 100 mm x 6 100 mm long, all with circular throw self-adjusting single shaft mechanisms. Special larger machines can be custom-built, Botha says.
SuperKing screens of larger sizes – 2 400 mm x 5 500 mm to 2 400 mm x 7 300 mm – are fitted with dual mechanisms connected by timing belts, to give an extended bearing life.
All screens in the range are designed to operate at an 18 to 20 degree decline. They are suitable for polyurethane panels or woven wire mesh. To ensure that the feed material spreads across the full width of the screen deck, Osborn’s SuperKing Screens are all fitted with feed boxes as standard. |
