Osborn awarded Apron Feeders Order

An order for eight apron feeders has been awarded to Osborn by Petra Diamonds. The machines will be employed underground at Cullinan Mine, for the operation’s underground silos and crushing stations, explains Osborn’s Chris Slade.

The company secured this R18-million order on the basis of the quality of its equipment, and its long-standing relationship with the customer, Slade adds. He notes that the Petra group has a number of mines where Osborn apron feeders have been operating successfully for many years, including Koffiefontein, Finsch and Kimberley. Cullinan’s new apron feeders will be utilised in an underground expansion project at the mine, he reveals.

Iron Ore Operation in China chooses Osborn

A chinese Iron Ore Operation has chosen Osborn’s SA-designed and manufactured modular plant

While Chinese machines are pouring into Africa, a South African mining equipment manufacturer is quietly making its mark in the People’s Republic. Johannesburg-based Osborn has secured its first ever export order to China, for a modular plant to be utilised in iron ore processing.

“This is a ground-breaking order,” enthuses marketing director Martin Botha. “It is an exciting and significant turnaround to see a South African machine shipped to China, while machines from China are being shipped to mines around Africa. It’s a reflection of the exceptional quality of Osborn’s equipment,” he adds.
