The “Shuttle Buggy” – manufactured in the USA by Roadtec - is a state-of-the-art material transfer vehicle that can reduce road maintenance costs by up to 90%.

With South Africa’s pothole problem, the timing couldn’t be better for this unique vehicle to be showcased locally - which is why Johannesburg-based Osborn has made it one of the stars of the show at the upcoming bauma Africa Exhibition, states commercial director Stephen Ireland.

Outstanding Osborn Idlers win Platinum Award

A multi million Rand order for conveyor idlers for the new Booysendal platinum mine in Limpopo reflects the long-standing reputation for long life, low maintenance and minimum downtime of Osborn’s SABS-approved conveyor idlers.

Osborn conveyor products sales manager Donovan Baleta explains that it was the quality and competitive pricing of Osborn’s products that secured this order for idler bases, rolls and anti-run back rolls for Booysendal mine. “We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with long-standing customer DRA Mineral Projects, as well as Northam Platinum, which owns Booysendal mine,” he adds. Standard Osborn idlers have been supplied for this project, for conveyor belt sizes ranging from 900 mm to 1 500 mm.

Osborn showcases new VSI range at Open Day

Osborn hosted an Open Day on 15 November at its Elandsfontein premises to promote the addition of the KPI-JCI Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher (VSI) to its product range.  Two brand-new VSI’s were on display, enabling customers to have an up-close inspection of these versatile 1500 and 2500 machines.

Osborn has already had remarkable success with the VSI, with both machines sold before they landed in SA, according to Shane Beattie, product sales manager.  They will be used at quarry sites for sand production.
