It
was in April of 1951 that the first license
agreement covering a number of products
including Gyraspheres™, Vibro-King
screens, feeders, screw classifiers and
parts was signed with Smith Engineering
works - as it was known then.
Osborn
became a member of the U.S. industrial
group, Astec Industries, Inc. on September
30, 2000 - a move that saw us terminate
our 18 year partnership with the Boart
Longyear group.
Coinciding
with Osborn's acquisition by Astec
Industries, the bulk materials handling
specialist relinquished its sole license
agreement with the UK-based manufacturer,
MMD, in 2000.
The
new association with Astec, together
with our existing license agreements
with IFE Screens & Feeders, American
Pulverizer and Mogensen, means Osborn
now offers a far broader range of world-class
crushing, screening and conveying equipment.
Today,
Osborn is one of South Africa's foremost
manufacturers of equipment for the
mining and quarrying industries. We
offer a very broad range of products,
including fully installed sytems primarily
to the mining (70%) and aggregate (30%)
industries.
We
are also a leading turnkey materials
handling contractor, specializing in
mobile and fixed crushing and screening
plants and conveyor systems.
Manufacturing
is carried out at Osborn's head office
and factory in Elandsfonten, South
Africa.
Track
Mounted Units
The Osborn Track 3042
is the only track unit being designed
and manufactured in South Africa, and
produced by Osborn. Following the successful
launch of this unit into the market at
the end of 2003, Osborn plans to introduce
other Track models in a range of sizes,
allowing you to choose models that best
suit your mobile needs. They also compliment
Osborn’s extended product offering
of : Jaw Crushers, Gyrasphere Cone Crushers,
Screens, Feeders, Classifiers, Rolling

size to 1,5x2m, used in a wide range

With over one hundred world-wide patents, "Gyrasphere" is
one of the most respected names in

technology continues to expand. The
Gyrasphere features hydraulic relief

Ring Crushers are successfully
operating in the South African
coal industry and have also
been applied in a variety of
industrial crushing and screening
applications. On a unit cost basis,
these are amongst the most economical
machines on the market today.
Osborn
designs and manufactures the
Hadfields range of Double
Roll Crushers primarily for
use in the coal industry and
soft rock applications.
Sizes range up to 750mm diameter
rolls by 2000mm long.
Completing
Osborn's wide range of materials
handling and processing equipment,
we also offer, design and manufacture
a complete range of standard and
custom idlers and underground structures.
Osborn
has probably the largest range of
vibrating screens available in South
Africa. These include the Telsmith,
IFE, Mogensen, PEP and in-house Osborn
brands. The range extends to single and twin
motor out-of-balance exciters to
standard eccentric mechanical shafts
to the heavy-duty gearbox exciter
types. The Mogensen sizer,
PEP and IFE Trisomat designs offer
unique screening solutions for extreme
screening applications.
Feeders For
heavy duty feeding, Osborn offers a
range of Apron Feeders suitable for
the most arduous conditions encountered
in the mining and quarrying industries.
Our Apron Feeders handle heavy,
lumpy and abrasive materials with accurate
feed rate control. Osborn
also designs and manufactures a complete
range of Belt Feeders.

shaft driven, IFE electromagnetic
and IFE gearbox exciter
drive pan and grizzly feeders.

Scrubbers
Telsmith
Super Scrubbers are designed
and built in a range of sizes
to handle lumpy materials typically
contaminated with clay and
other waste material to produce
a washed product suitable for
screening or further down stream
processes. The machines have
been widely applied in the
aggregate minerals and mining
industries.
Mobile
Crushing & Screening Plants
Osborn Telsmith portable
plant systems give high performance crushing,
low maintenance and the ability to relocate
easily and quickly.
They are designed in a wide range of
sizes and configurations from single
units to complete self-contained, closed
circuit plants. Today these plants are
in operation from Malawi to Peru.
Classifiers
Screw
Classifiers are used to separate
water and silt and other unwanted
fines from sand while de-watering.
Screw Classifiers are built in
single or twin-screw configurations
with a large settling, and are
for best salvage of fine sands.
Mills Osborn
offers a wide range of standard and
custom designed mills. Sizes range
from 0.46 m diameter for laboratory
use to 5 m diameter for large mining
operations.
